LG officially launches the KC910 Renoir 8-megapixel Viewty follow up

LG has announced that its long-awaited 8-megapixel cameraphone, the KC910 Renoir will be launched in October

After we found spyshots of the KC910 Renoir a couple of weeks ago, LG has officially announced the 'wold's first' touchscreen 8-megapixel cameraphone.

The KC910 Renoir looks very much like the LG KU990 Viewty, but it's the enhanced features that will make this handset a hit.

The 8-megapixel camera features a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, xenon flash, image stabiliser, auto-focus, manual focus, Face Tracking, Smile Shot and blink detection, just as the Samsung i8510.

However, there's also HSDPA (up to 7.2Mbps), WiFi, GPS with a jogging buddy for sporty types and Dolby Mobile, an integrated suite of audio processing to get the best sound out of the device.

Like the Samsung i8510, the LG KC910 Renoir can play DivX and Xvid movies straight out of the box, but it's a lot thinner at 13.95 mm thick.

The KC910 Renoir certainly looks good on paper, and if the user interface of the LG KU990 Viewty is anything to go by, the handset should blast other handsets into space.
