iPhone available on prepay from this month
O2 has announced that the iPhone 3G will be available from September 16th - it'll cost you though!
Finally - it's what we've all been waiting (and saving for). The 3G iPhone is now available on prepay, or will be from the 16th September.
Three different tariffs are available, each giving you more minutes depending on how much you top up per month, based upon the O2 Favourite Place tariff. If you are willing to spend £30 per month, you'll get unlimited free minutes to any UK landline or O2 mobile from a particular postcode.
Now here's the painful bit. The 8GB version will cost you £349.99, while the 16GB version will cost a staggering £399.99.
Thankfully, that does include unlimited browsing for the first 12 months after you activate the iPhone 3G which normally costs £10 per month, but that's still a little steep we think.
Another blow is that visual voicemail and call merging aren't available on prepay. *Sigh*.
