In the run up to the launch of BlackBerry 10, RIM has renamed its BlackBerry App World. Now known as BlackBerry World, the store also features music and video

RIM has changed the name of its app store from BlackBerry App World to the slightly shorter, BlackBerry World, ahead of the launch of its BlackBerry 10 platform which is scheduled to happen on January 30.
RIM confirmed the news at its BB Jam Asia conference, currently taking place in Bangkok and Thailand.
The company also confirmed that BlackBerry World will now support music and videos, bringing it back inline with Apple and Google’s respective offerings.
‘Just like Google Play,’ reports Into Mobile, ‘users with BlackBerry devices will also be able to get all kinds of content, not just mobile apps and themes.
And to make its store full of content, the Canadian handset maker announced few partners such as Baidu, Kantana and Fox Sports, with more companies following shortly.’
RIM will once again provide developers with the necessary tools to port their applications over to BlackBerry 10 from Android and iOS.
RIM will release the BlackBerry 10 gold standard SDK on December 11.
