Editor’s Choice Smartphone of the Year winner: Samsung Galaxy S2
The Editor’s Choice award for smartphone of the year goes to the Samsung Galaxy S2

We've awarded the Samsung Galaxy S2 Editor's Choice in the Know Your Mobile Awards 2011.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 is by far the best device launched in 2011. With a stunning 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, it's a beast of a device.
The dual-core processor ensures everything runs along smoothly and with its super slim design, it looks pretty hot too.
We said in our review:
In the run-up to the release of the new dawn of superphones, we have been reluctant to recommend handsets whole-heartedly, with the exception of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and its unique slide-out controls. And we are glad we did.
What the Galaxy S2 lacks in a metal finish, it makes up for with sheer hardware power. If you want a big screen, a powerful processor, plenty of memory, a great camera, lengthy battery life and one of the finest Android experiences, this is the mobile to get. It is no understatement when we say our mobile of 2011 could already be decided.
Unless on a budget - because for pay-as-you-go it is quite pricey, and not everyone wants to get into a £30 a month contract (even if the handset is free) - this is the Android handset to go for.
