Asus Padfone 2 UK release date update expected at MWC 2013

Asus is likely to provide an update about the UK release date of its Padfone 2 hybrid device at Mobile World Congress 2013, Know Your Mobile can reveal. 

The Padfone 2 is a rather unique concept in that you get a phone and a tablet, which once combined create a seamless tablet experience. 

You only need one SIM-plan despite having two devices, which is perhaps why UK networks gave the original Padfone a wide birth. 

By itself the tablet is useless, it’s just a chassis and a battery cell. Dock the phone inside the tablet, however, and it becomes a fully-fledged Android tablet.

The Padfone 2, already available in Germany, is now running Android Jelly Bean. 

Asus confirmed back in 2012 that its Padfone 2 would be coming to the UK at some point, but neglected to say when. And several months later, we’re still waiting.

This is all set to change at MWC 2013, however, when the company is expected to reveal what’s going on with the Padfone 2’s UK release date. God knows we've been waiting long enough in the UK.

MWC 2013 kicks off on February 24.
