The Asus EeePad Transformer will be delayed until June, Asus has revealed on its Facebook account

Asus' first tablet, the Eee Pad Transformer, has been delayed until June according to Amazon.

The online retailer emailed its customers with the new date, plus changed the shipping date.

The Eee Pad Transformer was originally due for launch this month (April).

Asus has said the delay is down to high demand, rather than any faults with the hardware or firmware of the device.

The company said on its Facebook page, "due to the fact the initial demand has been far beyond our expectations, the first 2-3 batches have entirely all sold out much quicker than we had planned."

Asus is now urging customers to visit its Facebook pages to keep a tab on availability updates, although even Asus seems to be unsure about the device's release date.

"Trust us, we've heard you all loud and clear, but, as you've seen, it's been extremely difficult for us to accumulate accurate and timely information for all our fans. We hope this rearrangement will help you better!"

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer looks like it'll appeal to the hardcore typists of the world with a keyboard attachment.

The Eee Pad Transformer runs on Android 3.0 and features a super-powered dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 Processor.
