Published on Sep 11, 2009

You can now cut, copy and paste text and images with iPhone 3.0. Find the text you want to copy and then press and hold your finger on it - a pop-up will appear with the options Select and Select All.

Click on Select and two pins will appear on either side of a highlighted word - move these so that all the text you want to copy is highlighted (Select All obvious highlights all the available text). A pop up will appear with the word Copy or Cut/Copy/Paste - click on this to cut copy the selected text to the clipboard.

Open a new application or document and click on the place where you want to paste the copied text. Another pop up will appear with the option Paste. Click on this paste the copied text into the new document. Simple, isn't it?

To copy an image just hold and press your finger on the image you want to copy. You will be promted where you want to Save Image or Copy. If you save the image it will be downloaded into the Camera Roll in your photo album. If you click on Copy the image will be copied to the clipboard and can then be pasted into a new document in the same way as you paste text.

Note: you can use the text selection pins to delete as well as copy. Select the text you want to remove then just click on the Backspace button. Away it goes!
