Ordering Spotlight search results

We show you how to order results using the Spotlight search facility on the Apple iPhone

The results of Spotlight search are grouped by category on the results page with the default order being: Contacts, Applications, Music, Podcasts, Video, Audiobooks, Notes, Mail, Calendar.

You can change the order in which results are listed and even tell the search engine not list particular categories at all.

Go to Settings then General and then Search Results. You will see a list of all searchable categories in the order they are listed. To stop a category appearing in the result click on it to remove the tick next to it.

To change the order of results, click on an item and drag it up or down the list. Sorted!
