You need to sign up for Apple's Mobile Me service to take advantage of this cool feature. Go to Settings then click on Mail, Contacts, Calendars click on Fetch New Data and switch on Push.

Now when you log in to Mobile Me and click on Settings then select Find My iPhone you will be able to view a map showing the current location of your iPhone.

Not only can you check the location of your precious handset, you can also send a message and a two-minute alert tone to the iPhone - even if it is set to silent.

As a last resort you can also erase all the data on the phone by using the Remote Wipe option.

A quick way to delete messages in Mail, Messaging or Notes is to simply swipe across the message from left to right.

This immediately brings up the Delete button without the need to click on Edit first.

If you receive a call that you don't want to answer just click on the top Sleep/Wake button twice quickly to send the call straight to voicemail.
