iPad Mini 2 with 325ppi Retina display in development?
Apple could be developing an iPad Mini 2 with Retina display according to Asian sources
Apple could be working on an iPad Mini with Retina display, according to sources in Asia.
The pint-sized iPad didn't launch with a Retina display, instead featuring a 132ppi screen, which is far below the standards of the iPad 4th generation 264ppi.
Rumours from questionable source DigiTimes say the iPad Mini with Retina display (AKA iPad Mini 2) would feature a 325ppi screen, with a resolution of 2058x1536 pixels over 7.9-inches.
The source of DigiTimes' story is said to be Taiwan-based backlighting industry sources.
DigiTimes also said,
'Apple will restructure the lighting of the next-generation 9.7-inch iPad from two LED light bars to one in order to decrease the device's overall weight.'
It seems a little early to be speculating about whether the iPad Mini 2 will feature a Retina display, especially as it's not due to be officially announced until the end of 2013, or possibly even 2014.
