Acer is adding more models to its forthcoming smartphone line-up with the latest outed as the Liquid Gallant Solo

Acer is gearing up to launch a new smartphone dubbed the Liquid Gallant Solo, an entry-level Android 4.0 handset.

The device was revealed by an official user guide posted on the company’s website and it’ll feature a single core 1GHz MediaTek MT6575 processor with 1GB of RAM and a 4.3-inch qHD LCD display with a 960x540 pixel resolution, giving a pixel density of 265 pixels-per-inch.

In terms of styling it seems to be taking cues from Samsung and HTC with a rounded-off rectangular shape and gently curving corners. It's also a buttonless handset so it'll be making use of Android 4.0's built-in touch controls.

On the back is a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and the device uses a 1,500mAh removable battery pack. Storage is catered for with 4GB of onboard space and Micro SD capability for 32GB cards.

As the handset hasn’t been officially announced there’s no clue on a release date, pricing or availability, although with a modest spec line-up it seems likely this phone will retail for under £200.

We'll bring you more as we hear it.
